Corydon Community Centres Public Meeting Tuesday Nov 30 at 7 PM
[Nov 20, 2010] HOW DO COMMUNITY CENTERS SERVE YOU?
Come hear our plan for how we can do better.
- Why amalgamate? • What do we gain?
- What do we give up?
Sir John Franklin, River Heights & Crescentwood Community Centres invite you to an open house at Ecole Robert H. Smith Gymnasium, 315 Oak Street, Tuesday, November 30 , 7:00 p.m.
The Central Corydon Community Campus (C4) is the collaboration of Sir John Franklin, River Heights, and Crescentwood Community Centres. C4 is working together to become a leader in community based provision of recreation, leisure and wellness programs. Amalgamation, based on City of Winnipeg Plan 2025, is a strategy of choice for C4.
AMALGAMATION WILL NOT RESULT IN ANY C4 FACILITY CLOSURE.
WHAT DO WE NEED NOW?
We want the support of our constituents for board amalgamation.
WHAT IS OUR VISION?
C4 will serve one community with three campus sites. As an amalgamated group, we will increase our capacity to offer quality programs, staff, and facilities.
WHAT IS OUR MISSION?
Our mission is to provide more accessible, affordable, and engaging programs and facilities to all ages and abilities. We are more than sports facilities, we are community destinations. We strive to meet diverse needs of people. Moving forward, our plan to share resources will be a catalyst to achieve facility improvements in the central corydon campus.
WHAT ARE OUR GOALS?
- Efficiencies of administration and program scheduling
- A central registration system
- Expanded volunteer base with The Central Corydon Community Campus (C4) is the collaboration of Sir John Franklin, River Heights, and Crescentwood Community Centres.

C4 December update
[December 2009] The three community centres in our area along Corydon Avenue have been very busy seeking collaborative alignments, where we can share our best thoughts for moving forward together to make each of our community centres stronger. We're going to start a new web page where we can provide you with the range of documents we generate, to give our communities a window into what we're working on.
Watch this space for documents we'll be sharing showing our work.
