Wading Pool

Sir John Franklin School Field

Sir John Franklin is pleased to have two children's playgrounds and a wading pool. These are for parents of young children, and we ask that you supervise your children at all times. We also have a large playing field. The toboggan slide is also popular.

North site

The north playground is located off Wellington Crescent at Wellington Crescent South (pictured above). It has a park-like setting with ample space for running around. In additon to a baseball diamond and tennis courts, it features a brand new climbing structure which has proved very popular with young families. There is parking available, and a drinking fountain is located across Wellington in the small city park.

Main site

Directly beside the Community Centre, this fenced and well-shaded area is combined with the wading pool. We hope to see an improvement in the variety and standard of this equipment but it is still enjoyed by local children. The more it gets used, the more likely we can improve the facility. Currently we have:

Wading Pool

The City of Winnipeg operates outdoor wading pools during the warmest weeks of the year. We encourage you to make use of the wading pool to cool down in the summer. Remember that the community centre is air conditioned and bug free.

2009 summer hours: Wednesdays and Thursdays, 11:30 - 5:30.

For more information on this and other wading pools in the area, call the City Wading Pool hotline at 986-7900. If you are looking for a pool open on days ours is closed, this is your best bet. Schedules for all the pools are also available at our community centr and public libraries.
