Recreation: Teen Room

The Teen Room at SJF had a few incidents take place, forcing us to open it only at the supervisor's discretion. Please call ahead or ask the supervisor on duty and respect their decision, which will based on their capacity to provide adequate supervision.

We hope to return to a more open schedule during this 2008 season. We have a pool table and other facilities for teens. Outdoor ice is in and hockey programs are up and running, so that will be almost every evening. Stop by and hang out with friends from your community.

The Teen Room is supervised by staff as time permits and we hope to add computer access later this year.

Sir John Franklin is a great venue to meet your neighbourhood friends and make new friends. Get a few motivated youth together and come up with a plan to formalize some activities and opportunities for young people.

Start with some of these ideas:

• Hip Hop Dance Classes for teens
• Socializing and visiting with friends
• Outdoor: basketball, tennis, baseball, hockey, baseball, soccer,
• Indoor: Foosball table, air hockey, meetings, gym, floor hockey, martial arts, etc.

[Nov 14, 2007] Sir John Franklin is pleased to open the games and activity room set up for teens in our community. Jamie Dumont on our board has committed to continue this work. Any volunteers, especially teens, interested in helping with ideas should contact the centre. We will be very appreciative of all assistance.
